  • beat is MUD. fuck the haters.

  • @raidkridley what is a 16th triplet swing

  • I prefer to call it classic/golden era hip-hop. Most notorious for the 16th triplet swing DJ Premier still embodies to this day (not to say he invented it).

"Boom bap" directly translates to "kick snare" music. I believe that the boom-bap tradition was effectively brought into the 21st century by producers such as, but not limited to, J Dilla, Black Milk, Nottz, 9th Wonder, The Alchemist, Danger Mouse, Kanye West and DJ Khalil.

Hip-hop, by nature, is evolution. We eat good and shit gold.

  • @raidkridley no where did i mention dilla nottz or 9th wonder. they arent boom bap either (nottz and dilla especially have some swing to their shit dont get me wrong). boom bap is a strictly early 90s thing. this all my opinion though, "boom bap" isnt like a subgenre its just some phrase that popped up somewhere. i personally do believe quantization and timing do affect whether something is "boom bap" or not. you dont, so theres no point arguing.

  • lol this debate was the funniest shit ever to read stoned as fuck and listening to this beat. good work arguing.

  • @raidkridley true u have a point. u can clearly hear the kick and snare on point. its definitely boom bap.

  • @constrobuz

    I don't care if it's 16th triplets or 32nd triplets, it's still boom bap.

Differing styles of quantization and timing do not take away from the boom and the bap.

Believe me, I love Dilla, Nottz and 9th wonder as much as you, but you can't tell me 32nd notes aren't boom bap. You can't.

  • @raidkridley boom bap is like early 90s shit, pete rock, dj premier, buckwild etc., drums with swing and groove. araab muziks drums are like the antithesis of boom bap.

  • if Araab aint boom bap... I don't know what is

his drums are crack, you just got a problem with the style

I can understand not appreciating the excessive reverb and cymbals, but to say it isn't boom bap is to be straight ignorant

  • @encdee i bleed boom bap, but gotta give arab credit for these type of tracks...he was innovative in bringing electronic flips to the table in the hiphop scene...i cant help but give a dude props for bringing something new in a genre where everything has been done pretty much. he has some crack boom bap style stuff that hasnt been released too..who knows if it ever will
