The Sheko people live in the far west of the Ethiopian Highlands before the hills drop down to the lower plains of Southern Sudan. When night falls the Sheko people climb into the great trees of the rainforest to gather honey from huge man-made log hives found throughout the Honeymakers' farms. One slip, for the men and boys, will mean death or serious injury. Many Sheko die falling from the giant trees. The Sheko have lived here for centuries, cut off from the outside world. They grow corn and collect honey and find most of the things they need in the forest.
