Right on girl! I'm trans, and I'm so happy they didn't implement this on the forums or as some mandatory feature... For obvious reasons!

It's been so long and even after the decision to not expose your IRL names on the forums, the RealID feature is still so woeful.

Let's say you add your friends to your RealID, you got hacked, and for whatever reason the hacker decided to do something to every one of your friends(could be anything), and if your friend is the one who got hacked, you'll become a victim as well.

Exposing your real name means you're exposing other info that links to it, which basically means everything.

@biebsfan095 I've thought about removing this video altogether because if you lack the context of when it was produced it really loses its meaning entirely. Real ID turned out to be a really great system after they decided to stop broadcasting it everywhere.

@biebsfan095 See, this entire video is completely without context now, because Blizzard actually did decide to go back on what they were originally doing.

Originally, any and all forum posts you made would be with your Real ID. Whether you wanted to share your real name with people or not. A lot of people, like me, protested this, and they decided against it as a program. But thanks for playing.
