Base jumping and DIR diving... Oh My !

Katie Base and crew kick it out from California to Baffin Island and the We Go Down DIR dive team is speechless.The We Go Down team now feels like little babies playing in a sandbox going "ga ga"..compared to this serious jumping action.

@whatitischief -- It's about being safe in EXTREME locations: great depths, caves, etc.

For example: in DIR you use Rule of Thirds for air management. 1/3 going 2/3 returning 3/3 for emergencies. In Recreational diving you don't do this, safe air management usually means, turning the dive at half empty and being on the surface with a few hundred left.

So "being safe" is relative. The safety skills you need at 50ft are different that at 350ft.

general custard, I will do whatever the f*ck i want underwater, and theres nothing you can do to stop me.

after getting into some more technical diving than i had ventured into at the time of writing, there are a lot of DIR techniques that i have intergrated into my diving.
