BTW, nice darkroom! It's nice to see that I'm not the only person still printing in a darkroom. Also, I did extensive testing of several print washers including Zone VI washers and the Calumet that you have here. The Calumet (Gravity Works) is one of the best washers that I tested and it's what I use. It put Zone VI washers to shame.

Nicely done but I hope you are kidding about fixing prints in a different room than you wash them in. I have been printing for over 40 years and my washer is in the same room where I process. The funny thing is that your washer is in the room that you fix prints too! I have never seen anyone have a separate room for fixing. Even Ansel Adams washed in the same room where he fixed prints. Your point about pre-washing is correct and important, though. Thanks for posting.

It's specific to our lab. Of course it's possible to fix in the same room... but students dragging dripping, unwashed prints from across the building will inevitably leave fixer stains all over the floors, as it has. It's especially important when you have a hundred students doing it.
