I like the concept of slowing it down. Maybe it's a bit too slow. But I dig her courage and originality and I also like the way it shows off the lyrics.

its really the wrong tempo totally we used to do this at marie crisis and five oaks the RIGHT WAY

Very nice work by the singer, interpretation, etc... But the accompaniment is not right at all. It really must have the fast piano pace behind to keep it moving forward as it was intended to. Draggy and wrong as a 'ballad'

And if you think this is slow, you should have heard Marie Blake's rendition of "A Quiet Thing". That was a woman who took chances whether anybody could sing along or not ;>

Wrong way? Right way? You may not like the arrangement but the choice was a contextual one in the course of the program - and I like it. So not wrong for me. As for Marie's Crisis: the songs are always done the "original" way. Appropriate for the venue but never innovative. That would make it difficult for the average Joe - or Mary - to sing along with the gusto that piano bar is famous for. A solo show is about taking chances. Not all succeed for everyone but it is a must for musical growth.
