  • This is not DIY. You buy (and sell) fairly expensive products claiming them to be useful.

Is it just me, or are all the claims about saving the environment fueled by commercialism and profit.

On that topic, props to the actual DIY videos that aren't trying to make a profit off of fools and are seriously trying to help people and the world.

  • You actual connect them to a thermal mass accumulator such as a large insulated water tank that can contain the heat produces by the pipes during the day. Having that thermal mass you can release the store heat when needed heating your house, powering your hot water heater though a heat exchanger etc. You can even make those pipes drive a small steam turbine producing electricity. If you have boiling water you by definition have steam. If you use a pressure cooker setup you have lots of steam.

  • really cool device.... but.... why are there so many camera illiterate morons out there that think they can turn their cameras sideways while shooting video??? I'm sick of having to tilt my head to watch this stuff.

  • what was the outside temp when you conducted that experiment?

  • That'd be such a waste to stick 'em inside and just use them for a thermal mass.

  • This is great i applaud you, also i liked Lazasas idea of adding antifreeze in with the water and heat exchange for colder climates. Ceramics could be added behind them in such a way to collect any access heat from the tubes then later as they cool they can both release the heat in the room. Although a great idea i think for it to work they most likely need to be in a closed setting somewhere that allows for light and space for them to actually work all year round

  • in practice a heat pipe in place of the water will take the head up to a header where glycol is circulated. The glycol then heats the water in the home/business/apartment. Look around the net you will see such systems.

    this is just a demo
