I am sure you must be very pleased with your efforts and quite rightly so, this window to the past is remarkable and so interesting, how different this road is today, I remember the three lane roads, nicknamed "chicken highways" very dangerous, thanks for posting, as many as you want to do I for one will watch.

Thanks for sharing! How tranquil it looked then! Although surprisingly more traffic then I thought there'd be then...I can remember the rag and bone man still coming round with his horse and cart in the seventies in West London...

@Rick88888888 This is a remarkable video - a window back into the past 73 years ago.

Could I suggest doing this with very early film? It really gives a new perception of the past.

To a lay person it is remarkable ...... very close to time travelling!!

Hello
Thank you for your comment. Please take a look at my Rick88888888 channel, for example the 1905 video about Market Street in San Francisco.
Which other old Youtube videos would you like me to enhance?

Hi. This is a great video. As an engineer that has years of experience I have to point out you can not get something from nothing. Adding colour to a film (the original format is film not video which has nothing to do with HD SD or the likes) will degrade the resolution of the original luminance. Contrary to common belief digital enhancement does not up the resolution it only removes noise, so although it looks sharper in reality it isn't.
Cracking film though.

@trevski19 Hi, Thank you for your detailed comments. I understand the luminance degradation. However I wish to point out that the upscaling software that I use does not just remove noise. It cleaverly calculates what the intermedate pixels should be in the additionally created lines based on the information in multiple frames. This software ("Video Enhancer") does not simply duplicate pixels like many (bad) upscaling products do. I also use "Motion Perfect", "Dehaker" and "VirtualDub".

Lovely stuff...
now do it in HD please!!! please!!!

@iamdekko Hello. I'm glad you like it. The video is already enhanced to HD quality. Just select the 720p or 1080p HD options! I have used special software to create the HD versions, not just pixel duplication.

NB: The original video can be found here: ....watch?v=SYmFxoLb4OM
You will notice that in this original the width is too narrow.
