How to Recover ATI Radeon VGA BIOS

i bad flashed my BIOS screw up my card, but able to recover it, here to share my experience

I have a 5970 Black Edition and to enable the fan control it needs a BIOS flash. I'm scared out of my pants to do this because of what happened to you back then. I don't want to ruin my card and void my warranty at the same time. I've already saved my old BIOS with GPUZ and bought an USB stick(16GB) for the BIOS flash.

I found the BIOS on the XFX site that is supposed to be the one for my card, but I also read they can be mislabeled. There are no videos about BIOS flash for my particular card.

@RottenRroses if u don't trust other ppl's bios u can try to modify ur own but only touch the fan control section of te bios this way it is ur own bios that extracted from the card so hardly go wrong

what bios safe my video card? becouse Im was to try install the bios of xfx webpage..they to say -BIOS Update - For HD-5970 "BE only"...BE only? what is BE? the version?..I was to dowload..and crashhh!.... dont working...ahhhhh! I'm going crazy !

@cesarion16 u broke the 5970 by updated that BE BIOS? ic, what u need to do is to hope that u can find the original bios from somewhere, try tech powerup they have a collection of bios, this is common sense to keep a backup of bios (by using program like GPUz) just in case something like this happens.

thank you very much it worked great !! I was ready to trash my 4850 . I have win7 64bit and I was not able to find a flasher to work under this OS . there is sometimes that those crappy DOS are helpfull

@Vali24ro either it's really dead or mobo compatibility issue. but ican't tell u the specifics, have to switched around and try yet?
