2011 Kia Optima named "Top Safety Pick" by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

Building on the momentum of Kia's growing lineup of new generation vehicles, the all-new 2011 Kia Optima midsize sedan has received the highest possible crash safety rating of "Good" in all four tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the U.S. and has been recognized as a "Top Safety Pick," the top award handed down by the organization.

some stupid ass think the front looks horrible after the crash?

It totally doesnt matter how the car looks like after the crash

It matters only for the driver's safety

For everyone that's complaining about how the "front looks after this crash".....you're all dumbasses. Go to the IIHS channel on here or their website and take a look at all the other crashed cars. Or for example, watch the video for the 2009 Volvo C30 crash (also a 'Top Safety Pick') and notice how the A-pillar bends just like this Kia's. And then ask yourselves, how would your clunkers look after a crash?

cars are built to protect the passengers. not look fabulous after a wreck. they are designed to fall apart and break and crumple to help reduce the force of an impact >.< people need to be educated before they comment stupid things.

actually asup's right. hyundai and kia are in the same umbrella corp. and the sonata , and optima are built on the exact same platform , same trans. engine, frame. you sir should learn more about cars . just like gm has chevy, cadillac buick, they have vehicle that look completly different , but perform the same in a crash since they're based on same platform they can literall crash test "10" cars with one test .

Because Kia's are same cars as Hyundai's. Particularly Optima is a Sonata. I won't repeat it twice. If you ever driven both and tried to look at the facts, you would know that. Only difference is that Optima's design was done by ex Audi team led by Peter Schreyer. Previous generation of Optima was even made on the same line as Sonata. They were putting different badge on it. New one has more differences but it's the same platform. Engines are made by Hyundai as well.

what does being a trademark of something have to do with each cars safety and design? Optima is not a Sonata. Kia is about 50% owned by Hyundai and that does not make their cars the same. Get your facts straight bud.

First of all you need to learn how to spell Sonata. Second of all get your facts straight. Kia is a trademark of Hyundai, so your advice does not make sense. Optima is Sonata with different exterior.
