and save the world from another clone!

These two are,and I hate to say it,cuz I hate to hear it,are apples and oranges.2nd after reading some of these crazy statements...Eddie has just as many guitarist clones as Malmsteen has...if you put in the work, you sound just about as good as anyone (coming from someone who only plays an hour a day.lol I'm lazy)but I'll tell you the truth,as soon as you stop going note for note after your heroes and venture out on your own, that is where you'll find true greatness within yourself

Suggesting that the ability to record a pop tune makes a better musician would mean that oops I did it again is just as good as 1984, and baby one more time is better....BS overall popularity doesn't mean shit to musicianship and ALL off these videos comparing guitarist is insane, and down right stupid! So if you still want to know who I like better? lol depends on my day or mood!!!! lol

For those who say that Van Halen is better because he has sold more pop rock tunes than Malmsteen, I will remind you that the Backstreet Boys Backstreet Boys CD went 14× Platinum Britney Spears ...Baby One More Time went 14× Platinum Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits went 14× Platinum Britney's ...."oops I did it again" went 10x While Van Halen and 1984 went 10x Platinum...

Malmsteen played faster but I gotta give it up to Mr Van Halen. :)

@Aremine Doesn't matter, they're all the same.

Yngwie is good heavy metal guitarist. But Eddie is better. And i think that one of Advantages of Eddie, he choose better electric guitars than Malmstein.

@godsguitarists van halen is from holland
Eddie Van Halen by far. There is only one of him. I can find hundreds of teenage neoclassical metal heads who can play malmsteen stuff. It's all modes and scales. If you listen closely enough, he is basically playing the same runs over and over again (alternating between sweeping, alt. picking etc). At least Eddie has heart and creativity. I will admit that EVH couldn't play the stuff Malmsteen does, but vice versa. I sure as hell couldn't play Malmsteen stuff either, but I don't care to.

Hmmmm, I like them both. Yngwie plays faster and is more accurate but sometimes he goes overboard. He does have some good songs unlike many other "shredders". On the other hand EVH has great tone and a funky kind of sound that’s often imitated but never duplicated. He also has a catalog of great hit songs and is an uber rhythm player. I go with EVH but I respect YM a lot.
