Does anyone have any update on this?

It's been two years since this trailer was released and there hasn't been a single new piece of footage or information... There's no way this can be scheduled for 2012 anymore, even 2013 sounds unlikely...

Rip off? please, its called an homage jackass. Del Toro even made a trailer specifically for japan explaining that he got his inspiration from manga, anime, and Kaiju films. He's shown nothing but respect for Japan and its Mecha/Kaiju genres. If you want to talk about rip-offs, why don't we talk about how Godzilla is shockingly similar to the American film, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, that came out before it.

I'm surprised they wouldn't capitalize on more popular Super Robot series, like Grendizer of Mazinger Z. Though I am glad Gaiking is getting a bit more of the spotlight.
