I'm in awe how much Cat knew about life and love before he was 25 years old. This is so touching and true. He's been my guide.

How do you define what's makes something as emotionally driven as music more or less credible than something else?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

That's like saying "My feelings are more credible than yours". In my opinion.

well for one, Chris Martin has admitted they have ripped off music before.. factor in the numerous musicians who have reiterated that, I'd say they're not credible.

don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy some of their music, but chances are they won't even be acknowledged 40 years from now.

To say you draw from musical influences is not the same as ripping off. That's not opinion, that's a matter of fact. Point to a couple credible sources where Chris Martin said. "Oh yeah, we really ripped off that band. Totally stole all of their rhythmic and lyrical components and just tweaked with the dither and fade" and I'll admit Coldplay is not credible.

saying "Were definitely good, but I dont think you can say were that original.. I regard us as being incredibly good plagiarists." isn't quite the same as saying you draw from musical influences either. The same for when Buckland stated, "Weve never so directly stolen off anyone before. Weve never paid for our plagiarism."

They've been accused of plagiarism more than a few times, and they're content with admitting it

Either way it is irrelevant. they won't be recognized 40 years from now

Yeah. No offense intended, but you've got the sense of humor of a well-trained sock.

Right. 40 years from now. I guess we'll see.

Til then.

regardless. COLDPLAY SIMPLY IS NOT CREDIBLE. if they were, they'd be musical saviors. the truth is radiohead did what they wish they could do.
