Yeah,sure we China had a very bad experience on this. In 1996 US, SangLan got paralysed due to falling from the bars in the game.

I think the chinese coach's constant 'interference' has to do with a new rule that the govt is imposing, which is that no athlete is to be injured during training. Certainly puts more pressure on coaches to hover around them like that.

The chinese players said that they feel more "secure" when their coach is underneath. Its just a psychological thing. Makes them feel safer.

Sang Lan got hurt from vault. In 2007, another girl got hurt similar as Lan from UB.
