Special Guest Toni Childs sings at Chant4Change: Inaugural Kirtan Festival.Chant4change was a celebration during the Inauguration of Barack Obama with sacred activist Shiva Rea, world-renowned kirtan/chant artists Jai Uttal, Dave Stringer, Gaura Vani & As Kindred Spirits and 400 other conscious revolutionaries including Saul David Raye, Daphne Tse, and Joshua Greene. Kirtan, with it's interactive call and response format, played a significant role in rallying community-based reform movements in India and beyond. Brought into mainstream India in the late 15th century by the spiritual reformer Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, it was the first known non-violent social reform movement against India's rigid caste system.
