  • I have a question: Do fatter sticks effect your speed?

  • It depends. If the sticks are too big for you and you can't hold them correctly then no. Otherwise, yes!

  • I need to work on my rudiments - anyone know of any good pads to use? The one Dr. Joy uses looks to be good :)

  • Try to play your ghost notes a lot softer, it's my weak point too.

  • single stroke is the hardest to master, yet its the simplest rudiment......try keeping time on ur hi hat with ur left, starting fills on ur left

  • mate, I bet you shag ur practice pad more than your mrs!!! BTW I find that traditional grip is much better .... more relaxed more control more drumming

    cheers

  • I've been playing 30 years and my left hand is still not as good as my right - it is a damn site better than it was 30 years ago, though ;-)

  • i've been playing for about 7 months. i practice almost everyday. my single stroke roll still needs work. the most difficult thing is getting my left hand to be as good as my right. some days i do nothing but drill my left hand. seems like you just can't get it to really roll unless your left hand is at least close to as good as your right. how long did it take you?
