A swarm of bees found a lovely new home inside a porch pillar, but the homeowner wasn't too happy to have them there. In fact, it would have been a fine place for them to stay, as the entrance was up high and facing out. But they had to go. Michael uses a Bee Vac to gently suction the bees off the brand-new comb and into a box. The whole process took just over an hour. These were very mild-mannered bees and neither of us was stung. We were not wearing any protective clothing.

The bees were rehived with a happy backyard beekeeper within hours.
