@lisalilsmartass Thanks very much for letting me know that I'll always have these knots... Lol. Brittanynic16 is heat trained and she doesn't have such problems. I don't want my hair to be straight... I would love it to stay the same without the knots... I'm always really gentle and I detangle sufficiently.
Do you think that I could get breakage from gently blow-drying my hair every 2 months?

@ashababe56 ... I suffer from knots at the ends of my hair to, especially because my hair is long, and trust me it only gets worse the longer your hair gets haha. There's no real way to avoid this (I wouldn't even definitively conclude that heat would solve this) but I'd recommend protective styling, frequent de-tangling (must be gentle) and regular trimming. :)

@ashababe56 hair is more prone to breakage once the strand pattern is changed through heat as the hair cuticle has been eroded away. You seem pretty nonchalant about the fact that considerable amounts of consistent heat will have to be applied to your hair in order to permanently change the structure? but it is your hair (Y). I've been natural my whole life but I used to suffer from heat damage and your hair just ends up feeling so lifeless, not something I want to go back to ...

@lisalilsmartass I understand that the altering in the texture that results from continued use of heat is called 'heat damage', however, I'm far more concerned about breakage. Lots of people who heat-train have received good results with less breakage than when their hair was virgin.
Have you experienced breakage due to heat? Could you suggest an alternative to combat single-strand knots?

Heat "training" is just another way of saying heat damage tbh... Anything which permanently changes the texture of your hair is damaging as it is breaking down the proteins in order to do so... Wait until your hair gets longer I'd say... Your hair hangs differently at different lengths :-)
I love your computer! Is that a Dell??
