I love Ben Stone more but Mccoy is brilliant as well!

@dspro86 Not to be a L&O nerd, but although Jack often used the death penalty in the earlier episodes, he only does it when it it's appropriate to the crime. He also uses it as a interrogation and leverage tool when people won't co-operate or when he wants them to testify.
BUT after a episode (forget the name, it's pretty famous for not having a crime/trial in it) where the cast is present during a execution of someone Jack convicted, he swears after witnessing it that he will never do it again.

He should have won an Emmy for every year he acted in this series! along with Jerry Orbach.

@jsabat28 I have to agree that I was extremely disappointed when the show ended. I'm happy that it ended on a positive note, but I wish that there was at least a TV movie or something so that it wouldn't have seemed so sudden.
LOL I just had to laugh cause the sony for this Jack McCoy video is "How to save a life"... the irony... this man loves the death penalty haha

I admit that I didn't like Jack at first as he rubbed people the wrong way. But then, he grew on me and mellowed out. He isn't the Jack of the mid to early late nineties. The more mellow Jack, the better!

I used to hate him too because I loved Stone! Then I started watching season 16 and then he just won my heart
