  • I have a question. I admittedly don't work on my deadlift enough, but my pr is, I believe, 390lb x 1. That is with the hex bar though. I then didn't lift for a couple months but put about 350 (which is more than I would start at after so long) on a straight bar. I was able to lift it quite easily and now I wonder b/c I haven't lifted in a long time.... Is the straight bar consistently easier to increase weight with?

  • @jetzlers, Most would say that straight bar is harder than a hex bar but it really depends on the way you are built (height, leg length, arm length, etc.) and what your strong areas are. But in general, most people can pull more with a hex bar.

  • Nice PR man, looks like you had a few pounds in the tank.

  • @NonEvo Thanks for the fast reply man.

I guess I'll just have to use the straight bar for a while and compare the results. I sure hope I break 400 soon because I'm taking off everywhere else.

  • awesome progress dude
