We tracked this beautiful "flying saucer" supercell near Topeka, KS on May 21, 2011 for several hours and through several mesocyclone handoffs. Although we didn't see any tornadoes from this cell, it had amazing structure and generated plenty of ominous wall clouds that looked almost close enough to touch. A few short-lived funnels also appeared. Nothing looked especially tornadic as night fell, but we were treated to a nice display of pinkish-purple cloud-to-cloud lightning. Viewing in HD is recommended!
The video begins at 6:13 PM and ends around 8:45 PM.
