Now she is back, but old, broken and sad; and they resent her for believed past disloyalty. But in the end she is forgiven & becomes the chosen to be "reborn" that year. @C6H12O6ish & matthewillian ... except that in 1981 Victoria was played by Finola Hughes -- but by Phyllida Crowley Smith in the 1998 direct to video musical FILM. Elaine Paige, in her book, "Memories", doesn't list Sir John Mills in 1981, but he is in the 1998 film, according to Wikipedia, along with Elaine in her orig. role of Grizabella (just to make things more confusing, it seems).
