I just lost my big sister on Monday due to DKA and pneumonia. It has always been so hard for her to control her sugar levels. But god bless you and I am very sorry for the loss of your friend.

I'm sorry about your friend. I was in the hospital all over new year with ketoacidosis. I've been diabetic for 8 years, and this was the first serious complication due to an infection. It is very scary to experience, and to see, but it can be prevented. Always keep an eye on your sugar level, especially when you're sick with no appetite, don't stop taking the insulin, this was my mistake and it nearly cost me my life. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who saved my life.

Thanks. My daughter is Type 1, and it's the most important thing in our life....taking care of her diabetes.

Take care my friend.

Here's her story:

My ex gf has ketoacidosis due to her type 1 diabetes. Drinking the way she does I'm sure doesn't help much
