THEN: This music has been in the making for a very long time. It began many years ago on a bright, sunny afternoon in a Montana park when Lee Westero (wesalittle) wrote the first four lines. He saw a woman in the park and ''watched her long hair being moved by the breeze and her slight movements, such as turning a page in her book. For some reason, just for a moment, it seemed as if her shadow was a separate entity that was simultaneously attempting to leave her, yet afraid to stop mimicking her every move, like a disobedient child fearful of the consequences. Those words were just sort of in my head a few seconds later. It was a fleeting, surreal moment that I had tucked back in my mind until I sent them to you. If I'd had my guitar with me that day, it might have become a song. But I had my rod and reel instead, so I just committed the simple lines to memory. What I CAN'T remember is if I caught any fish!''

And I once had a very similar experience at Myrtle Beach when I was transfixed by a graceful man at the beach who was seated with a woman and children eating a meal. The graceful way the man moved and the way the light played over his face had me staring to the point that the other people at my table noticed my responses to him long before I became aware of them. I can still remember the way the light played over his face but I cannot remember the details of his face Memory is such a perverse thing sometimes!

NOW: These lyrics were completed from Lee's point of view because the song had its origins with him Lee then set the words to music and I created a video using my own photography plus royalty free images from the internet.

We sincerely hope that you enjoy this song as much as we enjoyed writing it and doing the video for you!! It has been a joy getting to know Lee better, and I encourage you to visit his channel and listen to his other original songs. He has written some of the most beautiful songs on YouTube and a finer musician and gentleman is not to be found anywhere. Thank you, Lee, for letting me work with your astounding music. It has been a great honor and a pleasure!!

''SHADOWS''
© 2009 Lee Westero & Suze Scott

I envy so your shadow
It's with you all the time
Only in the darkness
Are you TRULY mine

Your shadow gets to touch you
And feel your silken hair
Were I just to be your shadow
Caresses light as air

The sunlight plays across your face
Your shadow dances near
It bends to touch your satin skin
And kiss your petaled ear

I linger as you turn a page
Your graceful limbs unfurl
Our shadows blend there whispering of
A boy loving a girl

And then you turn to look at me
Your brown eyes glowing dark...~
I never will forget that day
In that Montana park

I envy so your shadow
It's with you all the time
Only in the darkness
Are you TRULY mine
