A montage of photos of my "friends" and me, frolicking to the song which played over the opening credits of the motion picture, "Roar", starring Tippi Hedren and Melanie Griffith.

N' CHI YA NANI (WHOSE LAND IS THIS?)

There's fire in the sky in the morning
When the sun is a crimson dawning
And the earth is aglow like a burning ember.
Whose land is this?
This is my land!
N' Chi Ya Nani

There's a diamond in the sky in the evening
When the fire of the sun is leaving
And it shines on a land that's alive with wonder.
Whose land is this?
This is my land!
N' Chi Ya Nani

See the shadow of the eagle in the sunrise;
Hear the music of the children in the moonrise;
Feel the power of the lion when he roars like thunder.
Whose land is this?
This is my land!
N' Chi Ya Nani

  • Roar the movie touched me so deeply as a kid, I loved the music and I cried my eyes out when the lions got shot. Found the movie online and showed it to my kids, was looking for the soundtrack. You can actually order it only on roarthemovie . com. THANKS FOR UPLOADING, your music is so inspirational!

  • Very kind words, Katja; my thanks

  • I am so happy to have found this! This was a song I loved as a child. I barely recall the movie, but I loved the song so much that I bought the LP single with my pocket money. I can remember playing it all the time and driving my parents nuts ... but sadly I lost the record, along with many others, in a house fire last year :( Thanks for posting this :)

  • Nice to know it had such a positive effect. You can now purchase it on CD

  • Robert, you are amazing! I can only imagine what you have already seen in your life! And your resemblance with EF on these pictures is stunning!

    Take care,

    Inga

  • Thank you, Inga. However, the resemblance fell far short.......

  • Good to see this! You can visit the Shambala Preserve, where Roar was filmed...

  • This is the best ever! It should be on the chart as #1 hit! Awesome!

  • Wondertful song from an incredible movie: ROAR 1981....can't understand why this movie died at the box office. I have this soundtrack on vinyl but it is impossible to get a copy of the movie....
