john williams' forte was in his incidental music. His big themes for example, the superman theme use the classics for the motets. In that case....see Richard Strauss Death and Res.E.T.....Howard Hanson's Romantic Symp and parts of Samuel Barber for the main theme. Not to undermine his credit most of the great composer steal from the past.Peace

Apart from the comic comments... I wonder: Where will film music go to when Williams is no longer among us..So many have copied him, so many want to be him, so many failed to be him.. I wonder...

Alexander Desplat might be a good choice :)
