I love this video, it made me use the poem for my uni exam tommorow. i think the poem is more to do with walcott's acceptance of himself living in St Lucia (primarily a Catholic, French-speaking Catholic society) as an English-speaking Methodist. @glasgowsteamboat I didn't know that at all, it's really interesting. Kinda adds a depth to both the poem and poet. Thank you for watching and good luck in your exam. :)

Heard this poem read on the radio this morning...led to your medley...I shall send it on to everyone I know who has ever had a broken heart, even though it is about a mending heart. Your evocation has prepared me for Valentine's Day! Best always!

Amy- this is stunning, thanks so much. I found the Derek Walcott poem a few months ago, and I have no idea how I found my way to you on YouTube, since I wasn't a "youTuber" before I found your video. I burst into tears tears the first time I viewed it, and it still moves me every time I watch it. I wasn't familiar with the song either, but now I am totally in love with it. I haven't yet, though, been able to find this gorgeous, slow, studio version of the song anywhere to download. Help!!

@nancym2020yt Thank you for your awesome comment. Made my day. :)
And I can't remember where I got the song.. it's the acoustic version of "Biffy Clyro - Mountains" if that helps. Even though, the original is just as good in my opinion.
I'll tell you if I find anything else out. :D
