why corn is considered? because govt. already subsidizes it, and it is over-produced and the farmers have to find more uses for it. Corn is sort of like the biggest american crop there is and is in most of our food (do you see the word corn on the ingredients list?)
But corn is a stupid crop to consider for growing energy
Algae is an obvious superstar at producing energy from sunlight, and this man has found a great way to make algeal corn easily. In the desert! He isn't building solar panels!
