Is it possible that this wasn't meant for production? Maybe this was done by a student as part of a portfolio or work sample and it wasn't meant to be a complete two hour film. In any case I love this. Opera doesn't get enough exposure to anime and whoever did this is expanding a very small segment of animation/opera.

Why did this film not receive financing? Is there even a remote chance that it will be produced in the future? After watching this trailer my jaw is still slightly ajar, how does one even begin to transcribe into words the appreciation within their soul for the chance to view animated film poised to shatter all previously established limits in its artistic medium. If George Lucas and Ralph Bakshi could father an illegitimate child this is the film he would have undoubtedly have made.
