These photographs and video clips were taken during a protest in Reykjavik Iceland at 22. November 2008. The protest was against the government of Iceland and Central Bank of Iceland, their incompetence to handle the economy meltdown which was foreseen by many experts months and years before it happened. The people of Iceland wants these people to resign and get foreign experts to investigate how this could happen!

After the peaceful protest 4-6 hundred people marched to police station nearby where one man was illegally held because he protested on 8.nov 2008 by put up a flag of low cost store chain on the parliament building.
Police and/or the government didn't want him to take part in the protest 22. nov. 2008 - so they jailed him!
You will see how people reacted to that in second half of this video...

  • Hey man! How is the situation in Iceland right now? How is the inflation and economical situation overall? I haven't seen any news about Iceland for some time now, so I figured out that you guys are ok. Did my country actually give you that loan or not, because there is nothing about it in the news too. Anyways, I wish you guys all the best.

  • Hi Kudinov! The situation in Iceland is getting worse and we are start to experiencing shortages of imported products like cloths. In fact many importing stores are in bad shape and just matter of time until some of them go into bankruptcy. However, first part of the IMF loan has been received by the Icelandic government. The Icelandic public don't trust the government handle this money. The public wants international investigation on how this could all happen and prosecute the criminals!

  • I forgot... your country hasn't give us a loan but I think however that they will be taking part in the rescue package.

  • Do you think maybe it´s time to take seriously what Hugo Chavez says about the socialism of the XXI century? Of course, it would be different from the socialism of the XX and XIX centuries? that´s what mistakes are for, to learn from them.
