This is a training video for how to run a megacode station for a state EMT-Paramedic test. I live in Utah, so make necessary adjustments for your state or school, etc. This is for training only. Any constructive-criticism type comments are appreciated to make this better for others. We have some old Lifepack 10's in our school, so I have to use the paddles for shocking. Thanks for looking.

  • why is it that the scenarios are talked through more so then actual skills being applied. i.e. actually do compressions, not put a piece of plastic on the chest, and actually start the iv's vs saying that their established? I can talk all day about flight procedures and how they're supposed to be done.....doesn't make me a good pilot.

  • @WingAce5 - that's just the way they set up this test. But, Paramedic school definately has enough hours of practical hands on skills...in fact, more so than required to become a Cesna Pilot.

  • @firemike and others, yes, the next step would be a lido drip, but I only had ten minutes to run a code. Also, sedation is a good option vs extubation. Thanks for watching.

  • wanna do another one? up to todays protocols? i'm currently a paramedic student and i would definitely benefit with a video for todays protocols :)

  • @forumboarder167 Are you in Utah? If so, I'd definately be up for it.

  • i had my megacode in illinois today and although this video is alittle different in drugs and monitor and everything now i just wanted to say thank you for posting this video it really helped me out with my megacode today. passed with flying colors all because u showed me what the baseline expectations were! great job and thanks again!

  • @jasonwassom I'm not a utah medic/emt, I over in CA, however I would love an updated video. This video is very helpful.

  • @firemike34 What is this lidocaíne drip you are talking about for?

  • Just curious, is your protocal still to extubate the patient post code, or now do you guys sedate with Midaz/Fent

  • @jalen77232 This is a standard Megacode, things have changed a little bit since this video but those changes are easy to make. Learning how to run the code is the main skill
