Patricia Lecy-Davis is a Lakewood/Tacoma native who left at age 21 hating this town. She returned from Arizona and Colorado with a much different view of Tacoma at age 25. Patricia was getting ready to be a single mom, and decided to attend beauty school.
After graduating from beauty school, she focused her attention on working for Sebastian International Corporation. She was a hair dresser for only three years before being promoted to a full time educator for the company. After 8 years of travel and service, her position was eliminated. With a semi sizable severance package, a collection of eclectic salon furniture, and a rebellious fervor, she opened Embellish Salon in 2003. Learning how to run a business and be an employer was a journey. The lessons of honoring self, being forthright, having the courage to have fierce conversations, staying motivated, and motivating others are many.
Patricia's passion is working with other business owners sharing challenges, ideas, and successes to elevate the experience of building a culture that supports their dreams and financial means. Go Local is a vehicle for her to connect businesses of all types helping Tacoma to foster a strong culture of entrepreneurship.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Nachos, there is actually a "neighborhood centric" platform that is hyper connected, and mapped out more deeply than FB.
As far as these ideas needing more cooking, almost ALL of them are in some phase of development. Keep your eyes peeled!

What's the difference between a developer and doer?
dreamer = thinks of a building.
developer = creates the tools.
doer = uses the tools to build the building.
???
