Any scale with 5 notes could be called a pentatonic scale. The standard one we think of is the minor pentatonic scale c e-flat f g b-flat.

There are many types of Pentatonic scales.

Each one of the 5 black notes are the root of a pentatonic scale, they are not the exactly the same, however they all sound great.

You missed what he is doing! Don't you think he aware of that? These are ALL PENTATONIC however not ncessary major pentatonic but modes of it.

I'm just a music theory noob, but wouldn't using any of the other "black keys" just be sort of a pentatonic mode? So technically the black keys would give a player 5 unique modes instead of the diatonic 7's? I Don't think there's any mis-information, rather as Herb says, it's music without all the "scary" music theory.

You're giving some mis-information here. F# pentatonic (which is what you are using) is the only key that uses all black notes in its scale. If you were playing Bb pentatonic the scale would be Bb, C, D, F and G making Bb the only black key in that scale I think you are over-simplifying here.
