@RenalJim I grew up in Canada, we have guns, in fact most of my friends and family in Canada have more guns than any of my American friends(And I lived in Texas). I also like that fact that I can go to the ER and it not cost me a dime. Trust me the Public is not disarmed. And Canada as well as Europe are far from being Socialist(I currently live in Europe)

Violent crime plummets with an armed public. Meaning less rapes, murder and mayhem.
Police states love a disarmed public. Was it Stalin or Lenin that said one man with a gun, can control 100 men without one.
Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, and Mao killed 200 million people, they disarmed the people first. Don't become a sitting duck victim.
Guns keep good men honest, and governments from running wild. And believe me, our central government is and has run wild.
