This video is one of five "Shared Values" TV advertisements produced in 2002 by the U.S. Department of State for broadcast in Muslim countries. In the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the advertising campaign was aimed at improving the image of the United States in predominantly Muslim countries. The ads showed Muslim families living in the United States and talking about the religious tolerance and opportunities that they enjoyed as U.S. citizens. Each ad ended with a tag line saying it was sponsored by the "Council of American Muslims for Understanding" (an organization created by the U.S. State Department). Since this video was created by a taxpayer-funded government agency, it is in the public domain.
