Brock Reynolds is in town for the infamous, "Newman" wedding and shocks Jill with a visit at the Abbott mansion. This is a very sweet scene that shows the wonderful chemistry the Beau Kayzer and Brenda Dickson had. His character of Brock could always bring out the "sweet Jill".

  • Brenda was really good in this scene.I loved her look & all her scenes from 1984.Her chemistry with Beau who plays Brock was always really good and so natural.

She started to get campy by 86 & 87 but was one of the most entertaining actresses ever on this shows history & I miss her as "Jill"

  • Brenda had chemistry with pretty much everyone she shared a scene with. From Brock and Kay to Liz, John, Ashley and Lindsey. You could pair her with anyone, and it would always be fascinating to watch. Thanks again for another great clip. These clips show Brenda is Jill Foster Abbott, this is why people loved her so much in the role. Though I wish there were more 70's clips of her as her acting certainly changed over the years.

  • @yandrsupreme Thanks. I wonder why it changed.

I wasn't watching Y&R when Brenda played Jill, but I have been fascinated by her work in these clips, and I wish she were somewhere on daytime now.

  • @CarlD2 Her pattern of speech was different in the 1973-76 time period, but what you see here is basically the same as what she did in 1977-79

  • It's too bad the show has forgotten any relationship Jill and Brock had.

Brenda already seemed to be trying her Madonna/Oprah accent at this point (although she lost it when she yelled "Brock!" and went downstairs). It wasn't like this in her first stint was it?

As self-serious as Y&R could be, I still appreciated the moments when they would try to remind us of the power of hope, and love, and a second chance, and a tomorrow.

In many ways Brock is Y&R's true conscience.

  • I hope this clip becomes well-watched here on YT because this certainly shows the "Jill Foster" of old and not the "Jill Abbott" of Brenda Dickson's last couple of years on the show. Between BD's and Beau Kayzer's chemistry and the subject matter, these scenes are winners! Thanks for sharing this, BP!

  • Always nice to see the classic clips !
