From my experience, Paddle Battle actually didn't give me as much trouble.
It was Tug of War and Pedal Power that took me several years to finally beat. From there, I finally completed Mini-Game Island....
Incidentally, that's about the same time I actually got smart and wore a glove to complete those two games, cause those would've been murder on my palm otherwise....
