I'm in college. I'm just making sure I can lose weight and still get shitfaced on the weekends. Guess I can. But then I gotta work out even harder the next day. But I can eliminate it no problem.

Working on getting back to my high school fitness athletic ability. Beer is definitely gotta go to a glass per week. Thanks for the motivation. Subbed!

Mannn I try not to drink but I party a lot and the ladies and liquor... Can't help it but I do my cardio and workout. I think I need to refocus and cut down on liquor. Thanks for the info

another thing about alcohol is that the body uses it for energy, so the body does not use the fat you have for energy, so not that you getting extra calories with alcohol, but you're also using it as energy which means you won't burn fat

@kingkevinjoy Yeah this guy is an idiot. Its not only the calories in the alcohol that affect you, its also (and most important) the way alcohol slows down your metabolism during and stores fat (carbs) from the drinks and food youre eating due to your body concentrating on trying to get rid of the alcohol in your system because its a toxic. Its as if you turn into Endomorph for a whole day (or even days depends on how much you drink that night) after you consume the alcohol.

what about the effects of alcohol on protein synthesis?...its proven that it reduces the effectiveness of muscle repair. scooby1961 would scream into a pillow at this video

What if I'm looking to gain weight?

every time i want to drink i watch this.

I'm not against drinking, and I agree with steve in that if you incorporate it into the total daily caloric requirements to run a calorie deficit, you will still lose weight. The reason I try to eat the healthier, less processed foods more often is not so much about calories and weight loss, but merely embracing a healthier lifestyle. Hell, I could run a McD's diet plan running a calorie deficit and lose weight. But despite the weight loss, I doubt i'd be healthy

Decent no nonsense advice (subscribed) I would also add that drinking also lowers your will power and can create cravings for junk food (spirits sugar rush followed by hunger crash) - my feeling is that this is the real problem with alcohol. I actually like a drink after a good workout it helps me relax and sleep well - but it is also bad calories and will not contribute to glycogen repletion. So have a drink but eat extra healthy for balance and avoid junk food at all costs.
Great video, as always. Alcohol is calories. Cutting one's daily alcohol intake is a good way to cut calories. I'm trying to cut bodyweight and one thing I've done is eliminate one 16 ounce malt liquor a day. That's about 250 calories gone without even missing it too much.
