Thanks for posting this, removing the rear brakes saved me the frustration of using the coil spring compressors I had to use when I converted from SLS to coil a year ago.
A note to fellow 2004 D2 owners: you might get under there and find the rear brakes are held on by 12mm. I think this change was made in the late 2003 model year...
