Is it? In the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, every year even now around 30-40 thousands girls are still offered as devadasis to Temples. Yes the number has come down drastically in recent times due to goverment policies, but it is not going to ceases to exist so soon. The Devadasi system has its stamp of approval from the Hindu scriptures.

He calls the girls given to temple as technically married to the deity and calls it prostitution.

In many parts of India, the eldest son of a christian family is given away to the church. Can this person explain what kind of prostitution is that?

Giving away children to temples or any other place of worship is definitely wrong, but to call it PROSTITUTION, I am sure this person has lost his mind.
