Rachel frets to Ada about the dinner planned for the family that evening that will include Sam. Ada says if everyone just stays calm, tonight will be a piece of cake. Rachel replies that she told Mac that but she doesn't believe it. Rachel is distressed when Hilda brings the news that Jamie just called and he and Lisa are both caught up at work and won't be able to make it to the dinner. Ada tells Rachel it's not the end of the world, but Rachel says she was counting on Jamie and Lisa to be there and help diffuse any difficult situations because the impact of something embarrassing is felt less on a large group. Ada replies that physics was never Rachel's best subject. Rachel then decides that the key to a successful dinner party is safe topics like novels. Ada says she's not up on the latest novels, but Rachel says that everyone is talking about a novel called "Grave Entanglements," and if the conversation starts to lag or somebody gets embarrassed, Ada is to ask Sam if he's read it. Dinner is a silent, awkward affair, so Ada dutifully asks Sam if he's read "Grave Entanglements." He hasn't. After another prolonged silence, Ada asks Amanda if she has read "Grave Entanglements," but she hasn't either. Oh, well, Ada tried. Thanks to Eddie for the scenes.
Connie Ford (Ada) was a classic. She didn't need alot of lines to tell a story.
