My 2D hand-drawn interpretation of the fourth Animation Mentor Assignment. A jumping ball was to make at least three jumps and show correct overlapping motion on the tail. This was way harder than the 3D version and I needlessly overcomplicated my attempt by doing this in perspective instead of from the side. I haven't maintained consistent volume and length, especially on the tail so i don't think this would be "A" work but I think it would show understanding of overlapping motion and get at least a passing grade if i had submitted something like this.

  • do you use tablet ??

  • @umar6419

Yes, i used a Cintiq. The new ones are too expensive, I got an old 18" on ebay for about $600

  • damn dude.... this is insane! lol... again i must ask.... why? are you still in AM btw? I just started myself. Looking forward to animating tailor ;)

  • It's a challenge I made for myself. I like the look of 2D animation so this is my way of gradually learning how to do it.

If I reach a level i just can't do, then I'll know I should go back to 3D.
