Simple, natural but irresistible, that is the power of Biung's songs. As a young man from the aboriginal Bunun tribe of Taiwan, Biung writes and sings his songs in his mother language as if he is a channel of the spirits of mountains and sea to communicate with people. He once regarded his songs as a diary and a gift for his own tribe and fellowmen, but these songs have become a gift for the world now. Bountiful mythological images in the lyrics, tender voice and lucid melody are all his power to transcend all the gaps of ethnic groups or generations.
Biung did all the lyrics, musical arrangements, instrumentation and singing, guitar playing. 'The Hunter' is an incantation for the ancient Bunun tradition and beauty. 'Missing Far-away Homeland' is the nostalgia of a young aboriginal man who lives in Taipei City. 'Song of Our Glory' has now become a reveille song of the village next to his to make all the villagers early birds.
As said in his Moonlight: 'Though we had lost what we used to depend on, we got to be happy, still, for we still have the moon.' The singer has always a faith in nature, love and songs.
This is Biung. A young man from the mountains.
