  • Freddie decided to play golf on the day of this concert

  • This appears to be from the Basie at Carnegie Hall concert of March 20, 1981. Freddie Green was mysteriously missing with an unexplained malady. This is available on DVD. And, yes it is In A Mellotone (spelled that way by Ellington).

  • amen, sounds like it, as tis in a mellow tone. a dam fine version at that

  • LLLOOOLLL

  • Sounds very thoughtful. They did the same for me when I left NBC in 1984, but they put the chair over an open manhole on 6th Avenue, and then invited me to sit on it.

    Regards
