A video of my Largemouth Bass and Tiger Oscar. I feed the freeze-dried krill. The Bass and the Oscar get along and I have NEVER had a fight. Don't tell me my tank is too small or that my water is cloudy, its my camera and the light reflecting off the white gravel. I have had the Bass for about 6 and a half months but I caught it from that years spawn so it might be 8 or 9 months old. Bass was released and the Oscar is in a 55 gallon now.

  • how often do you feed them? i have a bass and two bluegill now and i want to make sure im feeding them right.

  • @gnomehater63 A couple times a day.

  • how are they sharing a tank? Oscars are generally violent...

  • @trumpetsownu94 They got along fine the entire time they were together. Oscars aren't violent. No fish is violent. Some are aggressive. When you keep two fish of similar size together since they were small, they seem to get along better.

  • Hey I have a few questions, how often do you do tank maintenance? What and how many filters do you have? Do you think people that say you need at least a 55g for one oscar are crazy? I just want an Oscar bad but my parents won't let me get anything above a 30 gallon.

  • @Bassintheweeds Once a week. I don't have this tank anymore. Now I have a 55g with an Aquaclear 110 and a 50. I let the bass go. You can get away with a 30 gallon for a single oscar.

He said that he let the bass go which depending on where he lives could very well be a native species. If he's in the US it's native pretty much everywhere. Maybe you should actually read what a person writes before you jump down their throat. I'm with you as far as the idiots that release exotic species into areas they are not native. People need to be responsible as pet owners unfortunately we have a large percentage of morons who could care less.

  • dude im so going to get a bass and put it in my tank

lol i didnt know what an oscar was when i got one, i kept it with other baby fish similiar to its size like angelfish, etc.... one year later i woke up and the only fish that were left was the Pleco and the Oscar :)

  • i have a 75 gallon tank with my oscar and largemouth bass i was fishing and reeled inthis little 2 inch bass

  • @mrbassaddicto3 Do not let the Oscar go it is not native

  • @Bassintheweeds no a 55 is the SMALLEST tank you should have for a oscar or else your asking for HITH even a 55 is pushing it because when the oscar gets bigger it will be longer than the tank is wide causing spinal problems

  • @Bassintheweeds

Oscars will grow to 17 inches long(I have 3 of them). An Oscar has to have a tank at least 55 gallons but will still need to be upgraded after a few years. I had to upgrade mine from a 55 to a 125 gallon.
