Viola Sonata, Op. 147: III. Adagio - Part 1/2

The Viola Sonata is the very last work composed by Shostakovitch, which was written and dedicated to Fyodor Druzhinin. It was first performed in Moscow on December 28, 1975.

  • The recording seems to "punish" the piano - rendering it too loud and vibrating

  • Seeing as Shostakovich died three days after this work was finished, he never would have performed/recorded this.
