what kind of rope is used for climbing?

Thanks, some good tips! I've been doing CrossFit for a while now and am working on getting rope climbs. Liked your tip about sitting on a box and practicing the footwork. I've definitely been flailing my feet around a lot trying to figure out the footholds.

@EasternPancakes77 practise climbing a rope XD

Thanks.I always tried only using my arm and shoulder strength and thus took a billion years to reach the top.I didn't realize how technical the use of legs and feet to climb actually was. Thanks for the informative video thumbs up man!

Can someone help me out please?!? I have some friends and they have a REALLY cool tree house. The only catch is,you have to climb a rope to get to the top. AND it's pulled tight,so there's no slack to do the 'scoop and stomp' method. I've only made it up once and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. Every time we visit I always try to make it but I just can't. I'm also a girl so can some PLEASE help me find a way to get to the top?!? Many thanks in advance!

@HorsesRmyDRUGS apparently its no longer allowed in uk schools cos of health and safety. We used to do it every PE class and loved it great strength training

The the first and the last method are the best. I use the last one better ...

Great vid mate.
i havent tried out any of the skills you spoke of yet. but next gym class i will try out the second method you spoke of. i saw someone try the rapid step in school and i notice that he had pretty bad rope burn after words so thank you for the heads up any way

@cloud67901 Yeah, scoop and stomp prevents the terrible rope burn. Keep flesh wounds to a minimum!

Great video! Just got a rope, and haven't climbed since the Marine Corps. Bad move for me to do the wrap and stomp as I remember....LOL. I had shorts on. The side one will be great for climbing with shorts. Thanks!
