Holland2 - Vlucht, Tuin, Schaapjes, Vla

The flights here, our first half-day in the Netherlands.

My favorite part is the driving -- it shows you the things I like most about the Netherlands. Den Haag is a reasonably-sized city (500k people) and the administrative capital of the country. We were driving right through the center of it, and everything was clean and pleasant and well-maintained. Not to mention small! And efficient! And adorable!

Also adorable are the sheep, which are communally owned by my aunt and uncle and their neighbors whose houses back up to the canal. My shaky camera-work probably didn't give you a good idea of how lovely their garden is, but believe me, it's fabulous.

P.S. If you're one of the rowdy teenagers who have been yelling and throwing bottles outside my window for the last two hours, please go home. Or out into the middle of a field, or on a boat, or inside a building...as long as I can't hear you, I don't much care what you do. Some people like to sleep at 3:00 AM, you know.
