The unlikely scenario portrays a suicidal bomber attack (along with a few missiles) by the Soviet Union on the U.S., which responds with massive nuclear retaliation, launching hundreds of ICBMs and cruise missiles and followed up by B52 strikes. Because we were living under the constant threat of nuclear annihilation in 30 minutes or less... we practiced for it, we planned for, we built bomb shelters and waited for the bombs to drop. I lived 30 miles outside of New York City and waited every night for the flash and the long rumble of a megaton ( or many megaton) blast to come wafting at me. Pay attention... did you ever hear of World War II? Learn your history and you would not ask such a question.
