Barge Rescue.wmv

Sunday 17th Jan 2009. A barge failed to negotiate the bridge on the River Nene Irthlingborough.
The rescue took nearly 2 hours but appeared to go well though the barge did hit the bridge as it passed through the arch.
The river is very high and fast with the recent rain and the surrounding fields have lots of surface water.

Local paper says it took 3 hours but I think it was less.
They also say there was a warning banning boats from using the river due the speed of the water.
